The Artist-Made Edition of Go Fish is limited to eleven individually created works, each handcrafted and finished by Michael Hefferon in his Colorado studio.
The artwork begins as an archival giclée canvas print, mounted by hand to a custom wood cradle. Michael then works directly on its surface, adding individual embellishments that extend the color, texture and movement of the original composition beyond the printed image.
Select elements are finished with dimensional spot resin, applied to accentuate the flowing water, luminous fish, mountain landscape and stained-glass-like fragments of color. The resin catches and reflects changing light, creating areas of depth and brilliance that shift as the artwork is viewed from different positions.
Although all eleven works share the same underlying composition and construction, the embellishment and resin application are created individually. Variations in gesture, texture, placement and dimensional finish ensure that no two works in the edition are precisely alike. Each is a unique, artist-finished interpretation of Go Fish.
The completed surface is protected with a refined satin finish, creating a visual contrast between the softly finished canvas and the selectively illuminated resin details.
The creation of each Artist-Made Edition is documented on video as it moves through Michael’s studio. The collector receives behind-the-scenes footage of their individual artwork being mounted, embellished, resin-finished and prepared for presentation.
Throughout the process, Michael records personalized video messages directly for the collector, sharing observations about the work, the creative decisions being made and the details that make their piece distinct within the edition.
This evolving studio record allows the collector to experience the artwork’s creation—not only its final form—and provides a lasting connection between the artist, the process and the finished piece.
Each work is signed and numbered by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity documenting its place within the edition.
