Through The Lens… Vail, Colorado is an immersive mixed-media exhibition by Michael Hefferon exploring the emotional landscape of Vail through layers of photography, digital artistry, motion, reflected light, and hand-finished resin detail. Inspired by the region’s rivers, wildlife, mountains, and shifting seasons, the collection transforms familiar Colorado moments into dreamlike visual experiences suspended somewhere between memory and imagination.
Created as both a physical and digital journey, the exhibition blends large-scale fine art prints with a cinematic motion installations to create an evolving dialogue between stillness and movement, nature and abstraction, reality and reflection. Together, the works invite viewers to slow down, wander, play, and experience Vail not only as a destination, but as a feeling.

Displayed on a 6’x15’ digital canvas in the grand lobby of The Hythe, visitors are immediately immersed into a vibrant cinematic journey inspired by the nature emotional landscape of Vail, Colorado.
Blending motion, videography, photography, abstraction, and layered visual storytelling, the installation invites viewers into a shifting world suspended between memory & imagination.
